Establishment of the Education and Training Foundation of Western Australia Department of Education and Training - Office of the Deputy Director-General Schools The establishment of the Education and Training Foundation of Western Australia is aimed at supporting the educational needs of disadvantaged students through school and school community initiatives. It will ba an avenue through which individuals, community groups and organisations can financially contribute and support specific programs and activities that deliver tangible and sustainable outcomes for students in Western Australian government schools and TAFEWA colleges. $188,000.00
Dandjoo Knowledge Network Community Development Foundation The foundation's foremost goal is to improve the educational experience for Aboriginal students at high schools by working with the existing set of MOASH (Mother of All Sheds) buildings on school sites, where there is a history of students and their parents feeling disengaged with the school system. $75,000.00
Curriculum Development for the Woodside Guide Dog Discovery Centre The Association for the Blind of Western Australia (Inc) The aim of the Discovery Centre is to focus on education and eye health. To achieve this the Association must ensure that teachers and students have the opportunity to visit the Discovery Centre and receive an effective and enjoyable education experience. To achieve this the Association is seeking funding to develop teacher and student resource materials and online learning modules which would ensure that activities within the Centre effectively address expected educational outcomes. $36,000.00
Youth Literature Days in Regional WA Fremantle Children's Literature Centre Throughout WA three groups of young people in the metropolitan area and four groups in the Regions will gather together four times a year for four whole days for the sole purpose of working with a top Australian author in a creative writing workshop. The work each group produces throughout the year will be collated and bound into a collection that will showcase their talents and those of the authors who have taught them. $20,000.00
Wongan Hills Community Education Partnership - Training and Retaining Wongan Hills Community Education Partnership Inc Creating opportunities for education and training for 15-19 year olds in Wongan Hills and surrounds while retaining and building a more sustainable rural community. To create local partnerships which facilitate the provisions of state and nationally recognised qualifications in education and training. To locally coordinate and maintain effective linkages between school, youth, education and training institutions, communities and workplaces. $32,500.00
Leeming Senior High School 2007 Solar Car Project Leeming Senior High School To design and build a solar car that will be able to complete the 2007 World Solar Challenge from Darwin to Adelaide powered only by sun. $48,000.00
Lead on Inclusion Therapy Focus Improving peers knowledge oand appreciation of the capabilities and support needs of students with disabilities through the fun medium of television and video. Promote more inclusive and supportive classrooms to allow students with disablities to reach their unique potential. Provide work experience opportunites for youth with disabilities, through the support of Lead on Bayswater and Therapy Focus Project Officer, in planning and developing the educational video. $11,110.00
